About this course:

Blue Oceans Yachting and KDW Training are thrilled to announce an industry-first online Advanced Service video training program.

The course is broken down into several key service topics. Each topic is explained in detail by a video presentation, associated reading manual and short quiz. Move through each of the different topics in sequence, at your own pace, in your own time, developing your skillset and knowledge as you go.

If you feel that it is time to develop your service skills and knowledge further, then this is the right program for you.

Upon successfully passing the final quiz, you will be issued with an Interim Advanced Service Theory certificate. This interim certificate counts as 1 credit towards the IAMI GUEST Advanced Service module (Unit 5). Full course completion requires the practical and remaining theory elements to be completed in class, earning you the 2^nd credit of the 2 credits required to earn the final GUEST Advanced Service certificate.

The 2-day classroom practical component will be offered twice a year in March and October, starting in 2027. This blended learning option is only available for completion with either KDW Training or Blue Oceans Yachting. *conditions apply.

In order to attend the Shoreside course, each candidate will need to:

Have at least 2 season’s experience in service, have good ability in English language, be at least 18 years of age, send through their updated CV, have the call with the trainer and successfully pass the pre-assignment (If needed).
Shoreside course attendance is at the discretion of the trainer.
Shoreside course evaluation is at the discretion of the trainer.

How the Process Works

Anyone can sign up, study and grow their knowledge – no previous experience required.

Online Training

Successfully complete the online course and receive an Interim Service certificate

Find a Date

Find a date for an associated shoreside course with Blue Oceans/KDW Training

Share your CV

Send a copy of your updated CV to evaluate experience as required by the course

Phone Interview

A short phone call to verify experience and explain the shoreside course

Admittance

Get accepted for the course and pay deposit (or full amount if close to starting date)

Shore Side Training

Attend the practical two days of the Advanced Service Course.

IAMI GUEST Certification

PASS: Receive IAMI GUEST ADV Service Certificate (Unit 5). Upon meeting the course standards and requirements.
